New, moving or expanding: Freeze.com changes name
St. Cloud interactive marketing company Freeze.com LLC changed its name this month to W3i.
The new name reflects the company’s move to promote its interactive services on the World Wide Web, Chief Executive Robert Weber said.
Each W also represents the three Weber brothers who started the company in 2000.
Freeze.com has grown to a $30 million company with 85 million subscribers and about 200 advertisers supporting its free ringtones, screensavers, clip art and computer wallpaper.
The company provides marketing programs, including display advertising, software marketing and product placement.
W3i is the parent company of Freeze.com, Screensaver.com, Wallpapers.com and Ringtone.com.
The company was awarded the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year 2006 Award for companies in e-business in Minnesota, North Dakota and South Dakota. (Article from The Saint Cloud Times, January 17, 2007)
